I might have to modify my idea for the 90 day blogging challenge for myself… Right now I’m struggling to keep 9 websites up to date EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Even just a quick write up takes a good 30 minutes to run through. So what I think I’m going to do is keep my personal blog updated every day, keep my watches blog updated every day (since the two of them are syndicated better than any of my other sites) and then update one of the other 7 sites each day so they get updated once a week. I think this change will increase the quality of my blog posts, and help me to keep my sanity ;-) For now I’m going to try and keep up with all 9 blogs every day for at least a full week, and that will give me some time to sleep on the idea and decide whether or not it’s worth it. 9 blog updates a day could pose a huge benefit to my sites… but it might be detrimental if I cannot keep up with such a rigorous schedule.

Wow, so it’s day 3 of trying to keep up with 9 blogs at once… I have been graced with some P3 opportunities that have given me a little variety beyond what I have normally been doing, and that is very good! By the end of the day my mind is generally mush! Seriously it takes all the energy I have just to concentrate enough to kick out some very simple entries. Even now it is a bit of a stretch to get the words on the page without sounding like a complete moron! Well, no matter how you look at it, this will be a stretch to complete 90 days and 9 blogs every day! I will do everything in my power to make it worth it, but no guarantees right? This blogging challenge comes a little bit out of necessity since one of my favorite old exploitable websites sold and no longer lets you exploit it for ranking power so I’ve got to make my own ranking power!!! :-D

Okay, so it’s important to keep organized… and to do so I’m laying out my blogging network! This is a lot for me, though it can show you a good path of what it means to keep categories of blogging separate.

  • For myself, often stress relief, and just random updates I’ve got Cody Sortore my personal blog!
  • Then we have my next oldest blog Archmaille which is for gaming and technology related posts.
  • After that my old store blog has been transformed into a watch and Jewelry Blog.
  • Of course we gotta get to the Asian and Food blog that never met its potential until now :-P
  • I threw in a toys and games blog to keep things interesting ;-)
  • Got a Shoes blog to keep ya on your feet.
  • A Bible study guide site to keep the faith.
  • And finally a vacuum cleaners reviews blog to pay da bills :-D

So that’s my network that I plan on keeping up to date for the next 90 days, including this blog ;-)

One of the most important techniques to learn in blogging is to schedule your posts. This may seem funny at first, but it really will help you to keep a good daily blogging schedule. Most blogging services allow you to do it, and it’s pretty simple. With WordPress you look to the right at the top under “publish” somewhere in that box it will say “publish now” and have an “edit” link beside that. When you click edit you can choose a date and time to have your article published! Simple as that. The value of this feature is immense! I suggest you stick with a 30 day blogging schedule where you are actually writing every day, it takes 30 days to form a new habit and you need that habit of writing every day! After a while you can start saving your posts, you don’t necessarily have to post every day, maybe just once a week with a very good thought out post. That post may take you weeks, or just several days to write though! When you start picking up readers you can say to yourself “every Wednesday I will release a new story” well maybe one week you write 3 amazing posts! Fight the urge to send them out when you write them and let each one hit on Wednesday, schedule it to do so. Now if you run into writers block you’ll be ahead of the game and won’t have to let that choking throw your blog off! Another great reason for doing this is so that you can have vacation time! Something that isn’t too common for us work from home types ;-) Remember many of your readers have jobs, and families to take care of, so once a week is generally about all that they will get to of your posts, just make it good! Write a post that they want to share with their friends, then their friends want to share it with their friends… this is what we in the biz call “going viral” it is one of the most coveted situations in blogging… Going viral can bring in hundreds of dollars in a single day (it can also crash your server bringing us back to that reliable web hosting I was talking about in another post) it can also bring in hundreds or possibly thousands of subscribers! This is where you want to be. So remember once you have your daily writing schedule set as a habit, feel free to publish only once a week, use those times when the creativity is flowing to pound out as much as you can, but only release what you need to it will keep the subscribers, and cash flowing evenly ;-)

The idea and goal behind this blog is to be a place where not only can we make a little profit, but hopefully along our journey teach others how they can profit online. Making money online isn’t for everyone, and it’s not a part time job like many would have your believe. You will have to put a great deal of time and effort into making money online, potentially costing your a bit of money for advertisements as well! Working online is a limited market as well, essentially the only job there is online is advertising, oh sure some people spread information for free, but most of them are still just giving information on products, services, or businesses that whether free or not, simply serve as advertisements. Occasionally you get a truly free website that only serves as an education portal, such as Wikipedia, even then it is still chalk full of intentional or unintentional advertisements. Along with tips and tricks for others to do the same thing we do, you will find product reviews, financial tips, money saving tips, and many other similar fields of expertise.

Anyways, I should tell you a little bit about myself. I am Cody Sortore, I’ve been working online for years, now I am a stay at home father. I don’t have any “need” to make money online, and I spend a lot of time tinkering with Blender working on some projects including The Bible Animated, in which we are working towards bringing the Bible into the 21st century through animation. I should warn you, if you haven’t noticed already, I like run on sentences… so get over it. I feel a sentence should be a complete though, and as a mildly autistic person, my thoughts go wide, far, and stretch through many different topics… all of this somehow blends together to form one coherent idea, thought, or topic in my mind, but may appear to be complete gibberish to anyone else outside of my brain.
